Displaying Your Costume After you've spent hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on your costume, you probably don't want to stick it in a closet, only to take it out for the next convention. A mannequin is the natural choice to display your costume. You can acquire a mannequin from a couple of different places. When a clothing store goes out of business, you can normally pick up their display cases, mannequins, racks, etc., for alot less than you could buy a new one. You can sometimes find businesses locally that cater to other stores by selling all of the display equipment (including mannequins) that they may need. Another way to acquire a mannequin is to build your own! Here are two sites that show you how to build your own mannequin out of PVC!

Displaying Your Props Here are a couple of great ideas for displaying your lightsabers, blasters and the like. One way to put them on display is to mount the prop on a pine plaque, found at craft stores. Wooden dowels were used to hold the blaster and a cut wire clothes hanger is used for the saber. You may need to stain the plaques yourself.
Another great way to achieve the same effect is to visit Masterpiece Replicas and purchase a display case (Blaster not included). You can find similar display cases locally that are made for model cars, but the quality is generally poor.

Target sells these wine racks that make a fantastic lightsaber display. Just look in the kitchen section. They sell for $9.99 and are available in silver and black.
